Join our merry band! We power the writing at your favorite TV shows.
Every day, thousands of trained writers and producers at the absolute tops of their fields create the TV shows you love. What's less well-known is that many of them do it using a nightmare hodgepodge of three-ring binders, giant email threads, and legacy software daisy-chained together with telephone calls. We are a company dedicated to making their lives better, and we'd like you to come work with us.
Hello! We’re Scripto, a screenwriting and production software company that's become the platform of choice at The Colbert Report, The Daily Show, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, The Rundown with Robin Thede, The Jim Jefferies Show, Wyatt Cenac's Problem Areas, and many others. The New Yorker called us "a fixture of late-night comedy news."
We're expanding our scope with the launch of Showrunner™, a collaborative writing and production platform for comedies, dramas, films, sketch shows, narrative podcasts, web series, plays – anything that starts as a script and becomes something bigger. It's already been used at Netflix's The Break with Michelle Wolf and Showtime's Our Cartoon President, and we've consulted with writers, producers, directors, and showrunners from dozens of other shows during development.
We are an unconventional tech company that caters to a rapidly growing industry at an exciting time. If you recognize yourself in this listing, you will find many opportunities to develop and exercise your talents here. We also offer flexible hours, and the entire company goes on hiatus for two weeks in summer AND winter, in addition to granting generous individual time off. We value our hobbies and side projects and look forward to supporting your creative endeavors too.
Scripto is dedicated to fostering inclusivity for people of all backgrounds. Members of groups that have been historically under-represented in entertainment and tech are especially encouraged to apply. Scripto is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, religion, disability, national origin, protected veteran status, age, or any other status protected by applicable national, federal, state, or local law.
You'll be working on Showrunner, our collaborative editor for TV and film. Instead of static PDFs, it creates living documents that can be accessed in real-time throughout production. Writing and production teams are using Showrunner at HBO, Showtime, CBS, Viacom, and Netflix to save money by working faster together.
